“Look at me! Portraits of Women in the 1920s”

Finally back to the museum and even from the sofa. “Look at me! Portraits of women from the 1920s” presents 24 works of different practices of portrait photography in Berlin in the 1920s. The online presentation provides a first look at the exhibition.

Conventional and modern shots from commercial photo studios are juxtaposed with artistic and experimental photographs and collages. “Look at me! Portraits of Women from the 1920s » shows works by Marta Astfalck-Vietz, Frieda Riess and Heinz Hajek-Halke, among others.

A diverse, modern, creative and above all self-confident image of the woman of the Weimar Republic becomes visible.
